Useless stop light, isn't facing oncoming traffic from any direction
This white car in the off ramp has a light across the intersection in front of him that he responds to. The stop light on his left side, in the center of the photo is facing over his hood as if it were there for pedestrians. But that isn't a cross walk for pedestrians, and there are no "walk/don't walk" lights on both sides of the white car.
Stumbled across the restoration and repair shop of this collection, accidental coolness!
Odd parking lot ornamenal conversation piece... first time I've seen a lost case in a business parking lot
That is an impressive stack of leaf springs

I've posted photos of this before, when it was at the Allied Gardens car show.. and I was told while taking this shot what it's story is. Back around 1970 there was an area of San Diego that trail bikes would enjopy, which torqued off the cops. The cops weren't allowed to off road the cop cars chasing the bikers, but of course they did, and the rocks caused flat tires. So the police dept needed a tow truck of their own to get the cars out of the wild country so they wouldn't be embarrassed by their stupidity when a tow truck company went out to haul the cars back to developed roads. So in 1970 they commissioned this unique International Harvester to be custom made. It's a one ton, no dualie rear axel, tow truck that is light weight and small enough to get off road, but stout enough to pull cop cars back to the city.
Donated with the full complement of medical accoutrements from when it was rolling out to save lives.
I wondered why they were bothering to keep a four door working, and learned it was a detective car... which makes it cool. It reminds me of 70's cop shows, and the ugly cars the detectives drove.

I recommend El Cajon Auto Electric. Family owned and operated, specializing in the worst problem a car can have.. electrical
My alternator was having an intermitent short... and then it would fry the wires from the ignition switch to the alternator. I'd replace the wire, test the alternator, and it tested fine. So i couldn't find what the problem was. I'd drive the car for a month and then it would happen again. Tom and his guys found the problem, and fixed it. Done, no more trouble. Love these guys.

There was a good reason to modify this business coupe trunk into a truck bed. More gas rations during WW2 for trucks.
Here are 3 photos of the same thing, as I found different small details of the pickup bed area in each photo that I think show how easy it was to remove the trunk lid and put in a bed
I learned this from Bob Engels http://www.bengelsoff-road.com/homepage/homepage.html who will be working some magic on a Lincoln Zephyr that had a similar conversion in the early 40's (for the added gas rations)
